Permeable paving is an integrated ecological solution to control excess water flow.

Permeable Paving is both cost effective and beneficial to the environment.  Permeable Paving maintains air and water supplies to trees and landscaped areas.
Water is dispersed into the sub-base throuh a series of graded gravel layers, which penetrate to the tree's root systems throught the pavement.
This helps to restore and maintain the natural water table, alleviating drainage, flooding and pollution problems.  It controls surface run-off that can lead to soil erosion and reduces moisture evaporation from the base course.
Any excess water is drained away throught an agricultural drain into the stormwater system.
Alternatively, rainwater can be harvested to underground water tanks, or to an above ground systems (via pipes) after it has passed through the pavement.

Permeable Paving

Permeable Paving can be used as an alternative to convential paving and hardstand surfaces within urban development areas to reduce stormwater run-off.
Permeable Paving can be installed as roads or parking areas, providing the support base is sufficiently thick enough to support traffic loads.

Brick N Pave have installed permeable paving accross a variety of projects, including driveways and housing developments.  The most notable use of permeable paving is at the Homebush, NSW, where the 2000 Sydney Olympics were held.  Brick N Pave were one of only two contractors authorised to conduct work at this site.
